Transportation to Gökçeada is only provided by sea. In the sea transportation organized by Gestaş, 2 car ferries and 1 sea bus are used. Thanks to the new ro-ro-type ferry and sea bus that Gestaş bought in 2008, transportation to Gökçeada is now much faster than before.
Those who come by car can only reach the island by car ferries. The journey takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. Pedestrians can reach the island by taking the sea bus from Çanakkale. The journey takes 50 minutes.
With car
Coming from Istanbul, you can reach Kabatepe Port, where Gökçeada ferry departs, by moving in the direction of Tekirdağ, Keşan, Gelibolu and Eceabat on the TEM highway.
When coming from Izmir, Ankara, Eskişehir and Bursa, you have to cross the Dardanelles and cross the Thrace side. You have 3 options for this.
TO PASS THE CANAKKALE STRAIT:

IMPORTANT! With the ticket you buy for the Bosphorus crossing, you can get on the Gökçeada ferry free of charge on the same day.
By bus
There are two bus companies that travel to Gökçeada. During the summer season, there are two mutual trips between Istanbul and Gökçeada every day, morning and night. Buses depart and arrive from inside the island. Buses do not cross the island during the winter season. You have to get on the Istanbul-Çanakkale buses, get off at Eceabat and then take the Kabatepe minibus from there.
Çanakkale is the last stop for buses coming from Ankara, Bursa and Eskişehir. If you come across the sea bus services between Çanakkale and Gökçeada after getting off the bus, it will take only 1 hour to reach the island.
If you do not come across, you can take the ferryboats departing from Kabatepe. For this, first you need to cross the strait from Çanakkale-Eceabat line and then take the minibuses to Kabatepe port.
Those arriving by Izmir bus can get off at Eceabat instead of Çanakkale and then take the minibuses to Kabatepe port.
