The Aegean Sea gave the name.

Aegeus is the father of Theseus, king of Athens. Because theseus did not sail white while returning from victory against Minotor, Aegeus threw herself into the sea, assuming her son was defeated. It is rumored that the sea that Aegeus had thrown to himself was called the Aegean after that day. It is also said that Medea had a son named Medus.
